We want you! Come work at an exciting new Taproom. You will be part of an original cast and crew, serving local food and great beer. This is a great opportunity to come join a new team with room to grow. We will be a busy, from scratch menu focused on our beer and local ingredients. Are you creative, have a passion for food and love having fun at work? We need dynamic, passionate and experienced Line cooks with documented success in a fast paced environment. 

Line Cook Position Summary:

  • Set up and stock workstations with assigned supplies.
  • Prepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, and assigned menu items.
  • Use grill, griddle, broiler, fryolator, range, oven, and steamer equipment.
  • Follow assigned cooking methods and procedures.
  • Demonstrate experience and proficiency in cooking meats to preferred temperatures.
  • Menu knowledge to accommodate client order requests.
  • Report to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef.
  • Comply with facility safety, food safety, and sanitation policies.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and quality performance.
  • Task assignments vary based on worksite requirements and needs.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Line Cook or Grill Cook.
  • Positive attitude, strong communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Able to execute assigned tasks with accuracy and speed.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push/pull 25+ lbs.

Reports to: President & works creatively under the consultation of HighBrow’s Renown Owner/Chef


Enhanced Customer Experience 

  • Help maintain culture, and positive vibe of the brand experiences 
  • Convey knowledge about food pairings and the ability to educate staff in turn enhancing the customer experience
  • Maintain a clean, safe, focused, and productive environment on a daily basis in addition to being a lead brand ambassador
  • Provide excellent customer service with a customer first attitude
  • Use good judgment, communication, and customer service when interacting with Taproom guests
  • Understand when to elevate situations to Management
  • Develop an understanding of the history and mission of White Lion, the Taproom, as well as the brewing process itself

Physical Demands & Occupational Exposure:


Physical requirements: Able to be on your feet for 8 hours at a time. Be able to move 160lbs. and be comfortable preparing and handling a small menu of food.

White Lion has a new production brewery, taproom, and kitchen at 1500 Main Street, Springfield, MA.  It is located in the heart of the Business Improvement District and in proximity to the Dining District,  MassMutual Center, Symphony Hall, the School Department, Sheraton and Marriott Hotels, 6,000  office workers, and MGM Casino. The new Taproom location is anticipated to open in June 2021. It  will include a 5,500 sq. ft. production brewery, 2,500 sq. ft. refrigerated and dry storage space, and a  2,200 sq. ft. taproom/kitchen at the corner of Main & Bridge Street. The taproom will offer indoor seating as well as seasonal outside seating. Guests have the option to stop in to pick up fresh beer to  go, or, relax and have a pint with great food options.
